Office Assistant – Public Accounting Office
Location: Grande Cache, Alberta

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our office, involving administrative support, exceptional customer service, and maintaining organized systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, and enjoys collaborating with others to improve office efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients, answering inquiries, and assisting walk-in customers in a professional manner.
- Manage administrative tasks such as client intake questionnaires, scheduling appointments, and file preparation.
- Answer and direct phone calls, maintain the office email, and coordinate meetings as needed.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital filing systems.
- Operate standard office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and multi-line phones.
- Proofread documents to ensure accuracy and professionalism in all communications.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document creation, data management, and communication.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing and tracking payments; familiarity with Sage is an asset.
- Support tax season activities, including file preparation and client communications.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred; basic knowledge of personal income tax preparation and bookkeeping is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in office administration are a plus.
Position Details:
- Full-time position: 30 hours per week (increases to 40 hours during tax season, March 1 to June 30).
- Wage negotiable based on experience.
- In-house training provided to support skill development.

Bookkeeping Manager – Public Accounting Office
Location: West Edmonton, Alberta

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to join our in-office team at our West Edmonton location. This role is essential to our commitment to accuracy, compliance, and proactive financial management for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO) extensively for managing client financial records.
- Generate and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Handle interactions with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) concerning client accounts and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with legal professionals, understanding and supporting their unique financial needs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience with a strong command of QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Solid knowledge of CRA regulations and experience managing compliance.
- Familiarity with the legal profession or experience working with legal clients is highly preferred.
- Software experience with Clio, Leap and PC Law (any other applicable software).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team within an in-office environment.

Senior Manager – Public Accounting Office

We are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our dynamic team and lead our public accounting office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of diverse clients, providing expert accounting, auditing, and tax services.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service offerings and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct financial analysis, prepare reports, and present findings to clients and senior management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
